The small print
Cookies
We use as few cookies as we can. The ones the site needs to work, and, only if you say yes, one to measure our adverts.

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. They let the site remember things, such as whether you’re signed in. Similar tools, such as tracking pixels, work in much the same way, and this page covers them too.
Cookies the site needs
These keep the site working and secure, so they don’t need your agreement. You can block them in your browser, but signing in and checkout won’t work without them.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in | Rebecca Page | Keeps you signed in to your library. | Until you sign out, or 30 days |
| Cookie choice | Rebecca Page | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected marketing cookies. | 12 months |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe | Takes payment securely and helps prevent fraud at checkout. | 1 year; 30 minutes |
Marketing cookies, only if you say yes
When you first visit, we ask whether you’re happy for us to use marketing cookies. If you say no, or don’t answer, we don’t set them.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| _fbp, fr | Meta | Tells us which Instagram and Facebook adverts led to a sign-up or purchase, and helps show our adverts to people likely to find them useful. | Up to 90 days |
Meta uses this information under its own privacy policy. Read more in our privacy policy.
Changing your mind
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. You can also delete cookies, or block them, in your browser’s settings.
